(Bargaining unit position – CUPE Local 3808)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set-up physical premises for each event
  • Grocery shop, reheat meals, serve food and clean up as required
  • Handle food safely
  • Arrange for client education information and entertainment sessions
  • Provide support to clients and engage them in activities
  • Train and supervise volunteers
  • Collect any applicable fees and reconcile expenses
  • Collect and report on program statistics
  • Conduct client satisfaction surveys and focus groups for program evaluation
  • Promote the agency and its programs in the community
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food and nutrition certificate/diploma or dietary aide course and/or Gerontology/Activation Coordination Certificate
  • Food Handling Certificate considered an asset
  • Work experience in food industry and with seniors preferred
  • Possess outgoing personality, solid communication skills and strong customer service skills
  • Possess effective written and verbal skills
  • Present a neat, clean appearance and demonstrate a positive, cheerful attitude
  • Ability to work with a diverse client population, community organizations as well as staff at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enjoys working with seniors and able to contribute to the quality life of seniors and adults with disabilities by promoting their independence, dignity, social, emotional and physical well being
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Clear Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

HOURS OF WORK:    20-25 Hours per week

LOCATION:  Various locations within the Central West LHIN.  (Etobicoke, Brampton, Malton and Woodbridge areas)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Part-Time Position
