CANES United Way Campaign 2016
Every year CANES employees gather their fundraising hats in hopes to beat our previous year's donation goal. United Way of Toronto and York Region Raises over 100 Million Dollars each year for Seniors, Homeless, Community Youth Centres and all those in need of special care throughout the city of Toronto. CANES is funded by the United Way for such programs as our Newcomer Elderly Outreach Program, Home Maintenance Program, Homemaking, and Seniors Luncheons Program. So every Year CANES' office staff and Personal Support Workers join in to help raise funds for United Way. Our Goal this year was to raise $9,500, and we fell short, but that's OK.
Although we didn’t reach our goal this year, we did beat a few previous records including the highest Pot Luck Donation and participation as well as the most items ever brought in by a single individual for the Silent Auction. I would like to thank all those that participated in donating this year, whether it was through an event or a pledge form. Every little bit counted to the last buck. I would especially like to thank all those including our PSW’s who cooked for the Pot Luck or brought in actual home baked items, you know who you are!
Thanks to Yongmi, Anita and Shehani for your help with PSW donations, and Monika and Karla for your help with the Bake Sale. I thank you, the United Way of Toronto and York Region thanks you, but most of all, you should thank yourself, because without you, there would be no way! Until Next Year!
