In September 2013, CANES Community Care successfully completed another Accreditation Survey. Every three years, Accreditation Canada visits our agency to complete a survey on the quality of our Agency.
Accreditation Canada is a not-for-profit, independent organization accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua). They provide national and international health care organizations with an external peer review process to assess and improve the services they provide to their patients and clients based on standards of excellence. Accreditation Canada's programs and guidance have helped organizations promote quality health care for over 50 years.
After a 4 day long survey of our programs and services, Accreditation Canada returns with a report card, showing our strengths as well as areas in which we could improve. Our Score for 2013 was the highest in which the organization could achieve. This is deemed as Exemplary Standing. As CANES continues to deliver over 12 different services throughout the community backed with the Accreditation Seal (pictured right) of Exemplary Standing will only lift CANES higher as it strives to improve health care services for seniors.
CANES would like to thank those who were involved in making this such a successful Accreditation. We’d like to thank all the clients who participated in interviews with the Accreditation Surveyors, our Community Partners who sat on the community discussion panel and to all the Personal Support Workers who took the time out of their busy schedules to answer any questions. CANES will hold its Exemplary Standing grade for a full four years, as Accreditation Canada has extended its Evaluation process to those agencies that have passed the survey with a higher standard of quality.
